A a handsome devil who also happens to be one of the greatest keepers of all time. Buffon captained Italy at what was his fifth World Cup in 2014 – but he is most revered for the part he played in their championship-winning team of 2006. In Germany he conceded only two goals all tournament, though he didn’t save one penalty in the victorious final shoot-out against France. Loser. For some reason there was a lot of tears shed when Buffon and Italy failed to reach the 2018 editition when they simply weren’t good enough.
