Umesh Yadav joined the elite list of Indian fast bowlers as he claimed his 100th wicket in Tests during the historic one-off Test against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. He claimed the wicket of Rahmat Shah during the Day 2 of the Test.Yadav has now become the eighth fast-bowler from the country to achieve the milestone and joins the coveted list with the greats like Kapil Dev (434), Zaheer Khan (311) and Javagal Srinath (236).
The 30-year-old started out the proceedings well for India along with Ishant Sharma . Both the bowlers clocked speeds of over 140kmph consistently, and made the ball move into the batsmen, that caused trouble for the opposition.

Earlier in the day, Hardik Pandya’s innings of 71 helped India reach 474 runs in the first innings. Courtesy Pandya’s third half-century in Test cricket, India added 127 runs during the first session of the second day.
Umesh played a little cameo of 26 from 21 balls, and helped India post a decent total on the board.
This year, during the tour of South Africa, fellow pacer Mohammed Shami had also entered the 100-wicket club. He has 110 wickets from 30 Tests currently.
